Apple Pie Heaven

Perfectly balanced sweetness and spice, baked into a crisp, buttery crust for a timeless bite.

Ingredients

For the Crust

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 6–8 tablespoons ice water

For the Apple Filling

  • 6–7 fresh apples, peeled and sliced
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour or cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

Method

  1. Blend flour, sugar, and salt, then work in cold butter until crumbly. Add ice water to form a soft dough. Chill for 30 minutes.
  2. Toss sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, vanilla, and flour until evenly coated.
  3. Roll out the dough, line a pie dish, and fill generously with the apple mixture.
  4. Cover with the top crust or lattice, seal edges, and add small vents for steam.

Bake to Perfection

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Bake for 45–55 minutes until the crust is golden and crisp.
  3. Cool slightly before serving to let the filling set beautifully.
